Convert PFB fonts to Mac fonts
Now I know I can convert all my early-2000s PFB Windows fonts to Mac (TTF, OTF).
“The “.pfb” file type is not native to or recognized by Mac OS X, so it must be converted to a file format that the operating system can understand before it is able to be used with your Mac.” (Source)
I’m using the following font converter services to convert old PFB fonts to OTF (OpenType Font) fonts for Mac:
- FontConverter.org (mentioned in above source)
- Convertio PFB to OTF Converter
More info on PFB (Printer Font Binary File) and PFM (Printer Font Metrics File), since they’re both required in order to work on Windows.
