WordPress Frameworks
Over the past few years I’ve used the following WordPress Frameworks:
PageLines Framework 2.x
Drag-and-drop layout via the back-end. This version is no longer the star-child for PageLines, and they’ve moved on to DMS (below).
PageLines DMS 2
This is the new kid on the PageLines block. 100% Responsive drag and drop system for WordPress. All the dragging-and-dropping is done via the FRONT-end – and ONLY using the Chrome browser. I just started using this Oct 2014. There’s also a FREE version of DMS 2 in the WordPress Themes Directory.
WooThemes Canvas
This is NOT drag-and-drop, but is “highly customizable through the options panel, so you can modify the design, layout and typography.”
Gantry
Made for Joomla and WordPress. This is NOT drag-and-drop, but instead “is a comprehensive set of building blocks to enable the rapid development and realization of a design.” I’ve been getting comfortable with this since mid-2014, on the Joomla platform.
I’m pretty pleased with these and am always on the lookout for other WordPress frameworks.
